Editorial & Verification Policy

Money Signal News exists to help readers quickly find real, publicly available benefit, rebate, tax credit, and funding programs, without wading through jargon or unofficial “guides.” Every article we publish follows the verification process below.

• We only summarize programs described on an official government website: a federal agency (.gov), a Virginia state agency (virginia.gov), or a Virginia local government site
• We do not use unofficial blogs, forums, or third-party “benefit guide” websites as a primary source
• Every article links directly to the original government page so you can verify the details yourself

• Before publishing, we confirm the program name, eligible applicants, benefit amount (if published), application window, and issuing agency against the official source
• If two or more official sources agree, we mark the item “Confirmed”
• If we can only confirm a program from a single official source, we mark it “Verification Needed” and say so in the article
• If the original page does not state a detail, such as an exact dollar amount, we do not fill it in. We label it “Not stated in source” rather than estimate or guess

Every article displays a “Last Verified” date. Government programs change funding levels, deadlines, and eligibility rules without notice, so we periodically re-check published articles and update the Last Verified date when we do. If a program has closed or a deadline has passed, we note that clearly rather than removing the article.

• We will never guarantee that you will be approved for, or receive, a specific payment
• We will never ask you to pay a fee to access information about a government program
