Editorial & Verification Policy
Money Signal News independently explains government benefits, energy rebates, tax credits, and funding programs across Virginia, Washington, Arizona, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Indiana. The standards below guide our reporting and corrections. No program or payment is guaranteed by this site.
How We Source Information
- We prioritize primary information published by federal, state, and local government agencies in our six coverage states, and by official program administrators when applicable
- We do not use unofficial blogs, forums, or third-party “benefit guide” websites as a primary source
- Every article links directly to the original government page so you can verify the details yourself
How We Verify Accuracy
- Before publishing, we confirm the program name, eligible applicants, benefit amount (if published), application window, and issuing agency against the official source
- We describe a detail as confirmed only when a cited primary source explicitly supports it; corroboration from an additional official source is sought when available
- If an amount, application status, deadline, eligibility rule, or other important detail cannot be verified, we identify it as uncertain rather than implying it is available or guaranteed
- If the original page does not state a detail, such as an exact dollar amount, we do not fill it in. We label it “Not stated in source” rather than estimate or guess
Keeping Content Current
We include a “Last Verified” date on program-focused articles. Government programs can change without notice. Automated tools monitor sources and can prepare drafts or identify possible changes; they cannot guarantee that every official source is checked daily. We change material eligibility, funding, and deadline facts only when supported by current primary evidence. If we cannot re-verify a claim, we label the uncertainty or defer the update. Older articles may remain available for context, with clear links to newer guidance.
What We Will Never Do
- We will never claim to be a government agency or use government seals or logos
- We will never guarantee that you will be approved for, or receive, a specific payment
- We will never ask you to pay a fee to access information about a government program
See our Official Sources page for the full list of agencies we monitor, and our Government Disclaimer for more on our independence from government.
